TURBOCHARGER REPAIR AND OVERHAUL IN BERLIN

Although turbochargers are designed for a very long service life, damage occurs time and again – often due to poor maintenance and care. Turbocharger repair – never heard of it? No wonder, as faulty turbochargers are usually replaced with new ones. However, this is unnecessary, and a turbocharger overhaul is often sufficient instead.

With our know-how and our high-quality equipment, we are able to successfully overhaul your turbocharger at a low price and restore it to good working order. We also offer exchange turbochargers. 

HOW MUCH DOES A TURBOCHARGER REPAIR COST?

We cannot always answer this question without having tested the turbocharger together with its vacuum actuator or electronic actuator.

For standard production turbochargers for cars and vans we charge 250 EUR excl. VAT (297.50 EUR incl. VAT).

The required spare parts are charged in addition. On average, the cost of the spare parts is between 100 EUR and 200 EUR excl. VAT (119 EUR and 238 incl. VAT). 

Immediately after the inspection (approx. 24-48 hrs) we will let you know the total price for repairing the faulty turbocharger, and you decide whether we should leave it at the inspection or carry out a repair.

Better safe than sorry

Please note: a turbocharger repair is a matter of trust. The turbocharger is the lungs of the engine. For smooth turbocharger function, it is better not to put the repair of your turbocharger in the wrong hands!

Many suppliers do not have the machines in their workshop to carry out a repair and only replace the core assemblies (CHRA, i.e. the internals). The inferior result is not professional, gives you no guarantee of safety and often causes a great many problems and costs afterwards, which will not be reimbursed to you.

Very few companies in Germany own the flow bench (flow test rig) required for this. Without this machine, correct adjustment of the turbocharger is not possible!

You will receive the corresponding reports from us, which can be specifically assigned to your turbocharger! We are happy to provide proof that we actually own the machines in question - we work properly.

Only new parts for the repair

To bring your turbocharger to a remanufactured condition, all moving parts must be replaced completely. Unlike some other suppliers, we therefore use one hundred per cent new spare parts for the repair. Only the housing is reused. This is important, because it is the only way we can meet the measurement tolerances of new turbochargers.

The turbocharger overhaul process

1. Sending in the faulty turbo

Pack your faulty unit carefully, protected against impact and without attached parts. Magnos Turbosystems GmbH accepts no liability for your attached parts. No replacement will be supplied and no compensation for their value can be provided. Banjo bolts, oil lines or other attached parts will be disposed of properly before the overhaul.

TIP: You can drop off your turbocharger directly at our workshop in Berlin from 8:00 to 18:00 (Mon-Fri) and 9:30 to 15:00 (Sat) and receive a price quote for the repair on the spot.

2. Receipt

Immediately upon receipt, we will register your turbocharger in our computer system and send you a confirmation of receipt stating the expected processing time.

3. Cost estimate

Your turbocharger is dismantled. Every detail is examined, tested and measured, and a findings report is prepared. The findings report contains important information about the cause of the damage and about what needs to be checked, cleaned and replaced on the vehicle. After a professional inspection, you will receive a cost estimate from us for approval of the repair. By e-mail or by telephone, as you prefer.

4. Approval

If you agree, simply send the signed cost estimate back to us by fax/e-mail or confirm the price by telephone 

5. Overhaul 

We now start the overhaul immediately. The repair of your turbocharger takes one working day and is carried out on professional equipment that we source from our partner companies Schenck, G3 and VISCOM. Of course, we use only brand-new original spare parts for the overhaul. You will receive two test reports from us as proof of the successful turbocharger repair.

6. Shipping the repaired turbocharger

Your turbocharger is sent to you together with information documents, the findings report and the invoice.
